At 0815 you fix your position 067°T, 4.7 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 164°T at 6.9 kn until 0825, then 211°T at 5.4 kn until 0900.

Give the 0900 DR position as the true bearing FROM Gannet Rock daybeacon to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
