At 1215 you fix your position 141°T, 1.1 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 241°T at 10.0 kn until 1225, then 299°T at 9.1 kn until 1310.

Give the 1310 DR position as the true bearing FROM Westfield church spire to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
