At 1300 you fix your position 293°T, 3.8 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 233°T at 5.1 kn until 1320, then 354°T at 7.4 kn until 1330.

Give the 1330 DR position as the true bearing FROM Westfield church spire to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
