At 1525 you fix your position 054°T, 4.0 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 133°T at 9.2 kn until 1540, then 253°T at 8.9 kn until 1550.

Give the 1550 DR position as the true bearing FROM Gannet Rock daybeacon to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
