At 1310 you fix your position 138°T, 2.5 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 279°T at 7.3 kn until 1340, then 357°T at 4.3 kn until 1410.

Give the 1410 DR position as the true bearing FROM Tern Island tower to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
