At 0850 you fix your position 253°T, 2.8 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 234°T at 4.9 kn until 0905, then 121°T at 4.5 kn until 0930.

Give the 0930 DR position as the true bearing FROM Mill stack to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
