At 1540 you fix your position 155°T, 2.6 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 297°T at 8.7 kn until 1600, then 245°T at 9.4 kn until 1625.

Give the 1625 DR position as the true bearing FROM Heron Point Light to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
