At 0935 you fix your position 310°T, 1.7 nm from Kittle water tank. You steer 288°T at 6.0 kn until 1000, then 114°T at 4.6 kn until 1010.

Give the 1010 DR position as the true bearing FROM Gannet Rock daybeacon to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
