At 0745 you fix your position 233°T, 1.7 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 142°T at 8.3 kn until 0800, then 062°T at 9.6 kn until 0835.

Give the 0835 DR position as the true bearing FROM Gannet Rock daybeacon to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
