At 1120 you fix your position 265°T, 3.6 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 147°T at 9.9 kn until 1130, then 034°T at 6.3 kn until 1150.

Give the 1150 DR position as the true bearing FROM Tern Island tower to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
