At 1450 you fix your position 042°T, 2.7 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 147°T at 8.0 kn until 1520, then 218°T at 5.1 kn until 1535.

Give the 1535 DR position as the true bearing FROM Gannet Rock daybeacon to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
