At 1105 you fix your position 082°T, 2.7 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 228°T at 8.5 kn until 1140, then 056°T at 5.8 kn until 1210.

Give the 1210 DR position as the true bearing FROM Gannet Rock daybeacon to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
