At 0830 you fix your position 348°T, 2.1 nm from Mill stack. You steer 339°T at 8.9 kn until 0850, then 026°T at 8.6 kn until 0915.

Give the 0915 DR position as the true bearing FROM Tern Island tower to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
