At 1045 you fix your position 274°T, 1.5 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 218°T at 10.0 kn until 1055, then 305°T at 4.3 kn until 1135.

Give the 1135 DR position as the true bearing FROM Heron Point Light to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
