At 1125 you fix your position 064°T, 2.0 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 264°T at 7.7 kn until 1210, then 068°T at 7.0 kn until 1225.

Give the 1225 DR position as the true bearing FROM Tern Island tower to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
