At 1105 you fix your position 205°T, 2.9 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 037°T at 9.1 kn until 1115, then 173°T at 6.4 kn until 1130.

Give the 1130 DR position as the true bearing FROM Gannet Rock daybeacon to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
