At 1055 you fix your position 128°T, 1.9 nm from Westfield church spire. You steer 059°T at 5.3 kn until 1125, then 104°T at 9.9 kn until 1145.

Give the 1145 DR position as the true bearing FROM Tern Island tower to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
