At 1500 you fix your position 080°T, 1.9 nm from Westfield church spire. You steer 102°T at 8.6 kn until 1515, then 143°T at 7.8 kn until 1525.

Give the 1525 DR position as the true bearing FROM Tern Island tower to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
