At 0825 you fix your position 353°T, 1.1 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 018°T at 9.9 kn until 0835, then 330°T at 5.7 kn until 0900.

Give the 0900 DR position as the true bearing FROM Tern Island tower to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
