At 0830 you fix your position 072°T, 1.7 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 287°T at 6.0 kn until 0840, then 152°T at 4.5 kn until 0850.

Give the 0850 DR position as the true bearing FROM Gannet Rock daybeacon to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.
