Skill 3 · Dead reckoningProblem 177002
Two legs from a 1240 fix: where is the 1300 DR?
At 1240 you fix your position 207°T, 1.8 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 067°T at 9.4 kn until 1250, then 114°T at 9.9 kn until 1300.
Give the 1300 DR position as the true bearing FROM Gannet Rock daybeacon to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.
Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
