At 1355 you fix your position 256°T, 3.2 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 167°T at 9.8 kn until 1415, then 116°T at 5.1 kn until 1445.

Give the 1445 DR position as the true bearing FROM Mill stack to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
