At 1105 you fix your position 339°T, 0.9 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 128°T at 6.8 kn until 1120, then 350°T at 8.8 kn until 1150.

Give the 1150 DR position as the true bearing FROM Tern Island tower to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
