At 0945 you fix your position 351°T, 1.0 nm from Kittle water tank. You steer 083°T at 7.6 kn until 0955, then 260°T at 8.6 kn until 1035.

Give the 1035 DR position as the true bearing FROM Mill stack to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
