At 1330 you fix your position 205°T, 1.6 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 077°T at 5.5 kn until 1345, then 352°T at 6.8 kn until 1405.

Give the 1405 DR position as the true bearing FROM Gannet Rock daybeacon to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
