At 0850 you fix your position 063°T, 2.6 nm from Westfield church spire. You steer 072°T at 7.9 kn until 0920, then 248°T at 9.1 kn until 0930.

Give the 0930 DR position as the true bearing FROM Tern Island tower to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
