At 1050 you fix your position 082°T, 3.4 nm from Westfield church spire. You steer 239°T at 8.1 kn until 1110, then 064°T at 9.9 kn until 1135.

Give the 1135 DR position as the true bearing FROM Tern Island tower to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
