At 1115 you fix your position 295°T, 3.0 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 229°T at 6.8 kn until 1150, then 105°T at 5.2 kn until 1225.

Give the 1225 DR position as the true bearing FROM Tern Island tower to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
