At 1245 you fix your position 053°T, 3.1 nm from Heron Point Light. You steer 007°T at 4.2 kn until 1315, then 317°T at 4.0 kn until 1340.

Give the 1340 DR position as the true bearing FROM Tern Island tower to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
