At 1015 you fix your position 258°T, 1.9 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 178°T at 4.3 kn until 1055, then 058°T at 10.0 kn until 1110.

Give the 1110 DR position as the true bearing FROM Gannet Rock daybeacon to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
