At 1140 you fix your position 017°T, 1.3 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 112°T at 6.4 kn until 1205, then 208°T at 4.4 kn until 1225.

Give the 1225 DR position as the true bearing FROM Kittle water tank to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
