At 1500 you fix your position 019°T, 2.9 nm from Heron Point Light. You steer 323°T at 5.1 kn until 1515, then 105°T at 8.5 kn until 1555.

Give the 1555 DR position as the true bearing FROM Gannet Rock daybeacon to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
