At 1515 you fix your position 293°T, 3.6 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 279°T at 4.9 kn until 1525, then 120°T at 5.2 kn until 1540.

Give the 1540 DR position as the true bearing FROM Tern Island tower to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
