Skill 3 · Dead reckoningProblem 192008
Two legs from a 1000 fix: where is the 1050 DR?
At 1000 you fix your position 192°T, 1.8 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 191°T at 6.4 kn until 1010, then 056°T at 5.3 kn until 1050.
Give the 1050 DR position as the true bearing FROM Gannet Rock daybeacon to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.
Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
