At 1410 you fix your position 050°T, 1.1 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 185°T at 5.5 kn until 1440, then 015°T at 4.7 kn until 1450.

Give the 1450 DR position as the true bearing FROM Gannet Rock daybeacon to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
