At 1130 you fix your position 069°T, 3.5 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 202°T at 4.5 kn until 1215, then 106°T at 7.2 kn until 1235.

Give the 1235 DR position as the true bearing FROM Gannet Rock daybeacon to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
