At 1220 you fix your position 050°T, 2.0 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 265°T at 6.3 kn until 1305, then 084°T at 6.3 kn until 1335.

Give the 1335 DR position as the true bearing FROM Gannet Rock daybeacon to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
