At 1115 you fix your position 313°T, 2.1 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 060°T at 4.4 kn until 1140, then 270°T at 9.0 kn until 1155.

Give the 1155 DR position as the true bearing FROM Tern Island tower to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
