At 1220 you fix your position 266°T, 3.0 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 056°T at 6.5 kn until 1255, then 222°T at 7.7 kn until 1305.

Give the 1305 DR position as the true bearing FROM Tern Island tower to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
