At 0815 you fix your position 041°T, 1.4 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 168°T at 5.5 kn until 0830, then 248°T at 5.4 kn until 0855.

Give the 0855 DR position as the true bearing FROM Gannet Rock daybeacon to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.
