Skill 3 · Dead reckoningProblem 20005
Two legs from a 1025 fix: where is the 1125 DR?
At 1025 you fix your position 044°T, 1.9 nm from Kittle water tank. You steer 293°T at 8.7 kn until 1040, then 255°T at 5.5 kn until 1125.
Give the 1125 DR position as the true bearing FROM Mill stack to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.
Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
