At 0715 you fix your position 266°T, 3.0 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 039°T at 7.4 kn until 0735, then 229°T at 4.6 kn until 0815.

Give the 0815 DR position as the true bearing FROM Westfield church spire to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
