At 1320 you fix your position 062°T, 2.3 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 340°T at 4.7 kn until 1340, then 166°T at 6.2 kn until 1415.

Give the 1415 DR position as the true bearing FROM Kittle water tank to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
