At 1310 you fix your position 046°T, 2.9 nm from Heron Point Light. You steer 097°T at 4.3 kn until 1350, then 311°T at 10.0 kn until 1400.

Give the 1400 DR position as the true bearing FROM Tern Island tower to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
