Skill 3 · Dead reckoningProblem 206008
Two legs from a 1310 fix: where is the 1345 DR?
At 1310 you fix your position 224°T, 2.0 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 285°T at 6.3 kn until 1330, then 201°T at 7.8 kn until 1345.
Give the 1345 DR position as the true bearing FROM Mill stack to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.
Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
