At 0740 you fix your position 203°T, 2.9 nm from Tern Island tower. You steer 104°T at 4.6 kn until 0750, then 052°T at 5.2 kn until 0825.

Give the 0825 DR position as the true bearing FROM Gannet Rock daybeacon to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
