At 0750 you fix your position 029°T, 3.6 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 181°T at 6.5 kn until 0805, then 118°T at 6.8 kn until 0820.

Give the 0820 DR position as the true bearing FROM Gannet Rock daybeacon to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
