At 1420 you fix your position 221°T, 1.1 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 303°T at 4.7 kn until 1450, then 341°T at 4.3 kn until 1510.

Give the 1510 DR position as the true bearing FROM Tern Island tower to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
