At 0705 you fix your position 352°T, 1.0 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 217°T at 6.7 kn until 0715, then 268°T at 6.3 kn until 0755.

Give the 0755 DR position as the true bearing FROM Heron Point Light to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
