At 0845 you fix your position 057°T, 2.4 nm from Gannet Rock daybeacon. You steer 240°T at 4.0 kn until 0900, then 279°T at 8.7 kn until 0930.

Give the 0930 DR position as the true bearing FROM Tern Island tower to the DR, and the distance. Courses are true and speeds are through the water; dead reckoning ignores current and leeway.

Tolerance: 2° and 0.15 nm (or 4 % of the distance).
